The State Council, China’s cabinet, issued on Monday a draft fiscal measures to support reconstruction in areas affected by the earthquake of May 12, including exemption from corporate income taxes this year for companies that suffered heavy losses.

The State Council of China announced a series of tax policies, loans and employment to help reconstruction and tax relief for companies that finance the reconstruction. He also promised an extension of six months for late payments of loans from the earthquake.

Companies affected by the earthquake are given priority in applications for initial public offerings in the stock or refinancing programs if you are already listed on stock markets, according to China’s cabinet.

“It also encourages organizations concerned to raise funds for reconstruction in the bond market,” according to the statement of the organ.

Insurance institutions will be instructed to invest in a coordinated manner in the projects of reconstruction and building of major infrastructure in the quake-hit areas, the report said.

The earthquake of 8.0 magnitude on the Richter scale that struck the southwestern province of Sichuan on May 12 killed 69,195 people until noon today. The number of injured stood at 374,177 and missing persons was reduced to 18,403.

The State Council also announced that the new homes of the survivors will be exempt from taxation from the use of land and other land-related.

In addition to providing subsidies averaging 10,000 yuan to each family that has been left homeless, China’s cabinet also said it reduced by 40 percent the interest of home loans to the survivors.

The minimum initial outlay is reduced to 10 percent of the loan, compared to the percentage of between 20 and 50 percent that applies in other parts of the country.

The State Council also pledged to find jobs for at least one member of each family without employment and subsidize the required social insurance to companies.
