Just like Flying

What makes us, as humans, want to build our own swimming pool? What pushes us to that point where we can’t live without a swimming pool in our back yard? What is the driving force behind our human obsession to swim?
I’ll answer these questions by taking you on a trip down memory lane. Try to remember back to when you where a child and you stayed at your first hotel with your family. You probably can’t remember what the room looked like, you might not even remember what city it was in but the one thing you do remember is the feeling you got when you saw that they had a swimming pool. And better yet, they had a diving board. The only thing you could think about when you were in your hotel room was when could I go swimming. Or remember those summer days when you and your neighborhood buddies would go to the community pool? Those are the memories that most kids will never forget.
In my opinion, swimming is the next best thing to flying. Weightlessness is something that can only be experienced, not explained. Swimming gives us that sensation that we can never erase from our memories. It’s the thrill of the flight or the thrill of the swim in this case.
